Descaling
7 steps to descale your machine
Minerals in our water supply can lead to scale build up, which affect the efficiency of our machine. To minimise this descaling every two months is recommended (depending on the water quality in your area).
Always read any warnings on your descaler and follow the specific advise on the packet – the following details are for general advise only.
Unscrew the shower plate, clean and return and then
fully fill your water tank with advised quantity of
descaler and water.
Switch on your machine (you do not need to let the
machine warm up) and allow the water to run
through the group head for about 15 seconds.
Switch off the machine and wait for at least 20
minutes for the descaler to do its work.
Turn the machine back on and run the
remaining water and descaler through the group
head and steam wand.
Turn off your machine, remove the water tank
and wash it thoroughly and return filled with
fresh water.
Turn the machine back on and run a whole
tank off fresh clean water through the group
head and steam wand.
Refill the tank again, make your first
espresso and discard. Your machine is now
ready to use again.
