Coffee morning regulars call it a day

Members of a group that has been hosting coffee mornings for some 25 years have decided to disband, citing the “increasing age of its members” as the reason.
According to LynnNews.co.uk, the members of the Action for Children King’s Lynn Support Group have decided now is the right time to hang up their aprons and move on.
It is likely the friends will still meet at each other’s houses for an espresso coffee and a slice of cake from time to time, given they have been together for a quarter of a century. Their fundraising efforts have seen them raise thousands for Action for Children, which provides support for Britain’s neglected kids, ActionforChildren.org.uk confirmed.
The group has regularly met to raise money for many of the charity’s projects, including the West Norfolk Young Carers group. However the group hasn’t seen a great influx of younger people joining - who may have been able to take over running it - and as such will have to disband.
The group’s chairperson, Kathleen Moorhouse, spoke out after announcing the news. She said: “It’s a great shame that we’re closing, but we’re so proud of the fundraising and support we have provided to the children of Norfolk for over 25 years.”
Furthermore, their hard work hasn’t gone unrecognised by the Action for Children charity. A representative, Laura Hanratta, remarked: “It’s a really sad day.
“Everyone at Action for Children is so grateful for all the amazing work and fundraising they have done to support vulnerable and neglected children in Norfolk.”
