Any coffee lover that wants to change up their intake could think about trying darker roasts in their coffee machine.

A ROASTe.com blogger known as intrepid510 explained that they have been serving up this type of coffee to people visiting their house over the Christmas holidays and there has been positive feedback.

“I have been picking these because I have been getting coffees that I thought that other people would like and to be honest it has been a nice little departure from the typical medium and light roasts that I have grown used to,” they said.

The writer stressed that they like to mix up their collection of coffee once in a while in part because the change may be enjoyed by guests coming round for a drink, with several different brands offering darker options to bolster selections.

Concert pianist and writer Stephen Hough recently discussed the appeal of tea and coffee in an article for The Telegraph, suggesting that it is often simply the smell of roast coffee grounds that will prompt a person to want one.

However, he pointed out that the sounds made by a coffee machine can do just as much to bring up the idea of a coffee in an individual’s mind. Mr Hough picked out the “metallic hiss” of the espresso machine and the thumping of the filter as examples of this.
