Hollywood A-Lister Leonardo DiCaprio is the latest in a line of high profile celebrities to bring out their own coffee line, thedailymeal.com reports.
Following in the footsteps of Hugh Jackman and James Murphy, DiCaprio has brought out his own brand of coffee, but has focused most of his attentions on the ethical nature of his brand.
DiCaprio has teamed up with La Colombe Torrefaction to launch his ‘Lyon’ coffee brand, and has already said that 100 per cent of the profits will be given to environmental charities helping promote sustainability and a fair deal for the growers. The funds are also likely to be spent on the other causes the Leonardo DiCaprio foundation supports, including defending land and oceans, as well as cleaning water supplies and programmes to help endangered species.
Lyon is said to be “velvety, nectar-like and sweet” and is expected to sell in high volumes, as coffee lovers rush to try it out in their own espresso coffee machines, whilst being sure the money spent is going to a good cause.
“Raising awareness on the most pressing environmental issues of our time is more important than ever,” the actor told ecorazzi.com.
“I am thrilled to be part of this new project with La Colombe that will help aid the shift to a truly sustainable future for the planet and its inhabitants.”
