Scientists are developing a coffee plant which will be completely resistant to disease and poor weather.

Researchers from the Tanzania Coffee Research Institute (TCRI) believe they will be able to produce new seeds which can create higher yields of quality beans in order to increase coffee production in their country.

According to ippmedia.com, these beans would be able to adjust and adapt to any climatic conditions in order to consistently grow into high quality coffee plans.

Being able to consistently produce high-quality beans regardless of conditions will allow farmers to sell more which should ultimately see the price of coffee drop around the world.

This could be exciting news for coffee shop owners or those who own bean to cup coffee machines.

Although the research is in its early stages, the research team have claimed they were confident this scenario could become reality. However, it could take as long as 30 years for their plans to come into fruition.

If they were successful with their experiments, the Tanzanian researchers would certainly improve the coffee trade which worldcoffeenews.com reports has already dramatically improved in recent times.

It has been reported that Sengerema District has recently entered the global market for the first time since independence which is allowing Tanzania to compete better with countries such as Ethiopia and Uganda.
