After months of planning, Macmillan’s Biggest Ever Coffee Morning event is due to take place this Friday, September 30th.
Communities up and down the UK have spent a long time getting ready for the event, which will see Britons delve deep into their pockets for the cancer charity.
with just a few bean-to-cup coffee machines, homemade cakes and kettles, Macmillan Cancer Support hopes to raise over £8 million. Some 10,000 people throughout Britain are expected to get involved, so this figure could well be achievable.
Situated in places as wide-ranging as Linlithgow to Doncaster, Milton Keynes to Portsmouth, fundraising events are sure to be lively and fun-filled. In fact, the latter is putting on quite a show - with coffee stands erected across the city. According to Portsmouth.co.uk, the fun will extend throughout the area; from Eastney Esplanade to the central Guildhall Square.
Further up in Linlithgow, volunteers will be on hand at Dobbies Garden World and the West Port Hotel to serve up some piping hot coffee. What’s more attendees won’t just get to eat cake, they’ll get to see a top baker do an icing demonstration, too.
In fact, volunteers will be on site at Dobbies’ locations throughout the UK - including at the Milton Keynes branch. A spokesperson from the chain, Emma Banks, told Miltonkeynes.co.uk: “We are delighted to be supporting Macmillan’s World’s Largest Coffee Morning for a third year and look forward to welcoming customers to be part of a nationwide event.”
